Fall Transition Health

Fall is such an awesome time of year, with its cool breezes and bright landscapes.  Nature gives us one last celebration of color before going to sleep for the winter.  Fall is also a time that can try our immune systems: adjustments to changes in fluctuating temperatures, rain and blooms that incite allergies to re-awaken and the emotions tied to the winds of change. 

With the onslaught of fall, sleep patterns may be affected.  The hours of daylight become less, giving way to more time in darkness, encouraging us to get more sleep.  But the transition from summer to fall can leave us sleepless, especially considering fall is a time where not only the patterns of the days are changing, but the patterns of our schedules are also changing.  The lazy days of summer are gone.  School is in session, the Harvest is here, now is the time to plan and organize and finish up projects before winter gets here.  This is a busy time as there is simply a lot to do! 

Metaphysical Energy Balancing brings a holistic approach to the changing of seasons, addressing sleep patterns and adjustments to the changing daylight structures.  The immune system needs sleep in order to function properly.  If you find yourself coming down with a cold, you very well may need extra sleep. 

Balancing the whole system: mind, body, emotions and spirit allows for balancing all aspects that may be resisting the transition of the season.  Resistance on any of these levels can lead to dis-ease that manifests in the physical body. 

Ever tried to sleep when your mind was racing 1,000 miles per hour?  Calming mental and emotional anxieties during this time of change, balancing our relationship with time, bringing the mind and emotions together into a state of rest – all of these will help to calm the nervous system, which helps in feeling and thinking more clearly and helps us to allow our bodies to rest. 

In the fall, we are running to complete the projects we initiated at the beginning of the year.  We want to complete our self-imposed goals, which is a healthy state of being.  However, Spirit may have other plans and we need to let go of our Ego’s attachment to our plans so that we can be at peace with the bigger plans Spirit has for us. 

Keeping your mind, emotions and spirit in balance will help in keeping the physical body well, but you are not in this alone.  In balancing your energies: the Chakras, the Meridians, the Aura, the Wei Qi, you are balancing the physical body, in that balanced energies protect the physical body from the energies of others with whom you interact on a daily basis.  When your energies are weak, the energies of others can reach the physical body, but balanced energies act like a fortress, not allowing the disease of others –on all levels: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual – to infiltrate your protective boundary. 

I wish everyone a Healthy and Happy Fall, enjoying the Harvest and Nature’s beauty before it is her time to rest.  ***
